That was a great article but is there any way to find more current info regarding the art industry? That article is from 2018 with info from 2015. I would be curious to see what the impact of the trump administration has had on the arts with all of the trade war nonsense and department cuts. Have artists had to reduce output to take on jobs with medical benefits? Have artists internationally seen a reduction in sales because consumer confidence is still pretty low? Etc. etc. Can anyone speak to this subject anecdotally? Good read though , CZ.
Here is an NEA article from March of this year with info from 2016. At the moment, this seems to be the most current data. It would be nice to say , based on the 2015-2016, that the arts industry is continuing it’s upward trend.
And here is a cool breakdown by state and the art related industry in that state. Also found in the article. The National Assembly of States Arts Agencies has some interesting information about what constitutes an art/ art related industry such as motion pictures and it’s related fields.
